New items

I've finally managed to photograph all the new items I've made and started listing them. I particularly love this bracelet - I've had a lot of compliments when I've worn it to work. I'll be really sad when it finds a new home. I also love this delicate butterfly necklace - the filigree detail of the brooch I transformed is amazing. Check out my new items here , or by clicking the link at the top of the page.

Today I'm wearing...

…a necklace I made last night! I’ve been wondering what to do with this small red and gold brooch and with a large carnelian drop I had for some time, but inspiration hit when I was playing about with gold leaf (my new favourite thing). I embossed the drop, which just so happened to match the central stone in the brooch perfectly. The chain is embellished with glass pearls, to pick up the tiny pearl detail of the brooch, a very old brushed metal gold bead I had, an unusual twisted brass hoop and two beautifully mottled chunks of fire agate. This necklace is actually long enough to slip over your head, but I have added a feature heart and arrow clasp at the front. Apologies for the awful pic. Hopefully I will have time to photograph this necklace – and the other new pieces I made last night – properly this evening. But if you would like to reserve it at a special price of £28 (RRP £38), drop me an email . First come, first served!

Sneak preview and work in progress

Here's a cheeky sneaky peek of a new necklace I haven't listed in my Folksy shop yet. It's made from a gorgeous turquoisey-blue vintage brooch teamed with rock crystal, labradorite and amazonite, along with one of the last of my tiny brass swallow charms (if anyone knows where I can restock on these for a reasonable price, can you let me know please? My old supplier has vanished). It is as yet nameless, all suggestions are very welcome: And here is a little look at a work still in progress. The brooch is one I found in a vintage shop in Harrogate (see my last post for more Yorkshire adventures). I'm going to team it with rock crystal, garnet, amethyst and gold filled wire, but beyond that I haven't really decided yet. I tend to work by making piles of things, messing about with them and waiting for inspiration to strike.

Earring Aid

Earrings make the perfect stocking filler for Christmas. A well thought out pair of earrings will show how much you care, and earrings can be worn with almost any outfit, whether it's a casual vest top and pair of jeans or a knock-em-dead little black dress. I've been giving earrings a lot of thought recently. I've got lots of little vintage finds which will make fabulous new pairs that I intend to do lots of work with this weekend. But for now, here are the most recent dangly additions to my shop . ...And Old Lace

Happily no arsenic in these little beauties. A while ago I got some vintage lace in a destash swap. I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do with it until a couple of days ago when just messing around a lightbulb pinged on - here are the results! Christmas is rushing up...

...and I haven't made anywhere near enough stock! The Royal exchange have requested more earrings, and I know the Wench and Trinkets needs more too, but I've been busy trying to get my Folksy shop back up to reasonable levels. Phew! I have managed to get some new pieces in my shop, and make sure you keep checking as I have more to list as soon as I get a minute - but with items selling sometimes just hours after they're listed you'd better be quick if there's something you've got your eye on! In the mood for love

All my pieces seem to have become a lot brighter recently - maybe it's because the shortest day's been and gone and now spring's nearly here. Or maybe it's just my generally cheerful mood. I've had some pink chain stashed away for ages that I haven't used, so today I dug it out and made something new... I've also had this vintage cameo brooch in a drawer for months, but I got some gorgeous green Swarovski AP crystals, so I thought the time was right to dust it off...

Proud as a peacock!

The first item from my new collection is onsale in my Etsy shop now! . I'm making as fast as I can, after all the first collection went to Liverpool. Sneak preview pics here:
