More dash than cash: Charm necklace

Left to right: Dolce and Gabbana, J Crew, Made With Love It seems that without intending to I've tapped into a designer trend. Two of the charm necklaces above are designer brands and retail for £595 and £120 respectively... one is a one-of-a-kind, handmade Made With Love special and costs just £30! I hadn't seen the designer versions before I made mine, but I can understand why they're a "thing" at the moment. It's lovely to wear some proper bling in the run up to Christmas, and a charm necklace looks great with everything from a cashmere sweater to a little black dress, as you can see in the blog post I wrote about how to style it . To make it even better, as today is "Cyber Monday", apparently the busiest online shopping day of the year, I'm offering 15% off all purchases at www.madewithlovebykat.etsy.com and www.madewithlove.folksy.com with the voucher code CYBERMONDAY. Happy shopping!

How do I style the aquamarine earrings?

I so enjoyed writing yesterday's "How do I style the reworked vintage charm necklace" post that I thought I'd follow it up with some ideas on how I'd wear the beautiful aquamarine and mother of pearl earrings pictured in the centre of the montage , above.  I'm so charmed by the elegance of these earrings - I think there are fewer prettier combinations that the turquoise and white look seen in the bottom centre picture. But that said, wouldn't they have just been perfect with the divine Prada dress that Lupita Nyong'o wore to last year's Oscars? In fact, when styling these earrings, I think delicacy is the key - I had ballerinas in mind when I created them and certainly a ballet-inspired look of tulle and cashmere, like the one pictured on the right of the image above, would be perfectly finished by these earrings.  You can buy the earrings over in my Etsy shop , where there is also a 20% discount all day today at checkout with the coup...

How do I style the reworked vintage charm necklace?

So I've finally got round to listing some new designs over at my Etsy shop ! they're only in the one shop at the moment (sorry Folksy fans) as I've got some big Black Friday promotions tomorrow and I don't want to run the risk of people simultaneously buying the same piece from the two different shops. One of my particularly favourite new pieces is this gorgeous charm necklace . Now I love a big statement piece, but I know that some people worry about how to style them so I thought I'd give you some handy tips with this lovely montage... So tips, clockwise from top left: 1. Just because you're wearing bold jewellery doesn't mean you have to ditch the prints. An Aztec or tartan blanket is just the thing to add a snuggly feel to your sweater/statement necklace combo.  2. A statement necklace like mine can jazz up a plain denim shirt. Wear underneath so it just peeps through, or button your shirt all the way up and sit your necklace underneath ...

Beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
