How do I style the aquamarine earrings?

I so enjoyed writing yesterday's "How do I style the reworked vintage charm necklace" post that I thought I'd follow it up with some ideas on how I'd wear the beautiful aquamarine and mother of pearl earrings pictured in the centre of the montage , above.  I'm so charmed by the elegance of these earrings - I think there are fewer prettier combinations that the turquoise and white look seen in the bottom centre picture. But that said, wouldn't they have just been perfect with the divine Prada dress that Lupita Nyong'o wore to last year's Oscars? In fact, when styling these earrings, I think delicacy is the key - I had ballerinas in mind when I created them and certainly a ballet-inspired look of tulle and cashmere, like the one pictured on the right of the image above, would be perfectly finished by these earrings.  You can buy the earrings over in my Etsy shop , where there is also a 20% discount all day today at checkout with the coup...

How do I style the reworked vintage charm necklace?

So I've finally got round to listing some new designs over at my Etsy shop ! they're only in the one shop at the moment (sorry Folksy fans) as I've got some big Black Friday promotions tomorrow and I don't want to run the risk of people simultaneously buying the same piece from the two different shops. One of my particularly favourite new pieces is this gorgeous charm necklace . Now I love a big statement piece, but I know that some people worry about how to style them so I thought I'd give you some handy tips with this lovely montage... So tips, clockwise from top left: 1. Just because you're wearing bold jewellery doesn't mean you have to ditch the prints. An Aztec or tartan blanket is just the thing to add a snuggly feel to your sweater/statement necklace combo.  2. A statement necklace like mine can jazz up a plain denim shirt. Wear underneath so it just peeps through, or button your shirt all the way up and sit your necklace underneath ...

Beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

...Despite the mild weather there's just over five weeks until Santa comes! To celebrate, I'm currently offering a 10% discount in both my Folksy and my Etsy shops - enter "Christmas1" at checkout to receive your discount.

Christmas Day crafting

Stuck for something to do with your family after the turkey's been picked to the bone and you're in the pre-Die Hard lull? Why not get handy with the glue and glitter and make some lovely festive items that you can add to your tree or house next year? I've scoured Pinterest to create a Christmas Crafts board , and here are some of my favourites, click on each one to be taken to the tutorials: I've also - very belatedly - found the Guardian's Christmas Crafters series . Why wasn't this flagged up more obviously? I particularly love this interview with Helen Noakes who makes adorable penguin earrings, amongst other treasures.

Press release: New jewellery collection for vintage-loving brides

ROMANTIC vintage has always been a huge trend for weddings, as jewellery designer Kat Dibbits has found. Her reworked vintage jewellery line, Made With Love, has proved so popular with brides that she has just introduced a special section for them into her online shop. Kat sells through the online marketplace Folksy, and her bridal collection features vintage brooches, earrings and bracelet links, reworked into new pieces using gorgeous stones and crystals in palettes of dusky pink, pale cream, lilac, gold and pastels. “Each piece is completely one of a kind,” says Kat of her whimsical creations. “I think that’s one reason why brides love the collection so much. Every woman wants her wedding day to be unique, and this is one way to help make that dream become a reality.” A far cry from the mass produced items found in High Street shops, Kat’s jewellery is painstakingly handcrafted, with some pieces taking several hours to complete. Brooch pins are snipped off and the back...

Press update - lots of lovely features about my jewellery

There have been so many features about my jewellery in the run-up to this Christmas, I just wanted to share some of them with you. The biggest mention was in the Mirror's online piece about Cyber Monday deals . I managed to persuade the lovely journalist that she should support independent businesses by including me and she did! It was a crazy sales day for my Etsy store and I felt exhausted but elated by the end of it: There's been some great local support from Business Boom Bolton who ran a lovely piece on their website. I'd like to get more local press - I know when my local Twitter feed Horwich Gossip RT anything I post it leads to a huge spike in views for my shop. It really backs up my feeling that you should shop local wherever possible: Two fab blogs have also written pieces about me. I was included in the gorgeous Christmas Advent Calendar over on Dress With Press , and Pebble Zine ran a lovely interview with me about why we should buy British this C...
