Autumn craft projects

I'm such a Pinterest junkie. Honestly, I think I need to go to some sort of support meetings, I just love it way too much. One of my favourites of my boards is simply titled "Things I must make" and seeing as today is the start of November I thought it was a great time to share some of the projects I hope to manage over the next few cold months. This  falling leaves garland  is so beautifully autumnal, I really want to make one to go up my stairs. I love elbow patches, and  these sequinned ones  are suitably glamorous.  The idea for this jumper is so simple - just cut a slit down one shoulder and stitch some lovely heavy velvet ribbon in place.  Finally, I think I'm going to make this (or something very similar) my new packaging for my jewellery line . Wouldn't it be gorgeous to receive a new bracelet or necklace in an envelope like this? What are your craft plans now the nights are drawing in?

July Jewellery Jubilee: Get involved on Pinterest

I love Pinterest , I think it’s my favourite social media channel. I spend so long looking at all the gorgeous pictures people post I can lose whole evenings, and I’m obsessed with making boards. New collections, Christmas décor, my birthday party – you name it, I’ve probably made a Pinterest board for it. One of my favourite boards is “The Made With Love girl” , a board I created to try and get a fixed idea in my head of who I was designing for. I go back to it whenever I start designing, and it helps me stay focussed. I’d love to see your Pinterest boards, and those that you love. Post the links below and I’ll blog about my favourites next week. And of course, if you’ve seen any images you think should be added to the “Made With Love girl” board, let me know and I’ll pin them!

Who is the Made With Love girl?

So as part of my plans to improve my jewellery line this year, I was thinking about “the Made With Love girl” – the idealised version of the girl who would wear my pieces. The "Made With Love" girl likes: Quirky parties in unusual venues Champagne cocktails Picnics Books Tea parties Other people’s weddings Film noir Spotting shooting stars To help me make the list, I created a Pinterest board and I liked it so much I made it public. You can see it here.

Put a pin in it

Probably like most of you, I have become a little bit obsessed with Pinterest. Not only is it the fastest-growing social media tool – always interesting from a marketing point of view – but there are just so many gorgeous things on there. Forget 50 Shades of Grey, Pinterest is where the real middle class girlporn is. I make boards for everything – my perfect craft space, the commission I’m working on for a friend’s wedding, inspiration for each of my collections, things I want to make… the list goes on and on. You can follow me here but I wanted to share a few of my favourite finds with you here on my blog. Photo frolics

I feel like my photos need to take a big step forward. Or is that backward? I’m just not really happy with the pictures on my Folksy site at the moment, particularly after I stumbled across this pic, which I love: I intend to redo quite a lot of them, and I’ve been gathering inspiration via Pinterest - you can see my board by clicking here . Incidentally, I’m becoming a little bit obsessed with Pinterest - there’s so much gorgeous stuff on there it’s nigh on impossible not to spend hours drooling covetously/seething jealously. I’ve also been experimenting with montages. This is something my fellow Boltonians Jamball do brilliantly, but I suspect their shoots must take hours. Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained. This is my first, very amateurish attempt, done just with some pics of my Ruffled necklace which I was quite happy with: Like this? You can buy it by clicking here. Anyway, I’m off to think about props. I have access to quite a lot of vintage jugs, lanterns, crystal glasse...
